Cafe or Skittle alley
A café in the pub was always a priority for many villagers – a daytime, welcoming space to relax and meet friends. The exciting solution at the New Inn is a café by day and a skittle alley by night making the best use of the great space in the pub.
The New Inn Cafe
The café at the New Inn is now open – a cosy, venue serving great food and drinks and a perfect spot to meet friends, to hold meetings or to provide a welcome break for walkers, cyclists and visitors to the village. Even the chance to escape the doldrums of a home office. Free enhanced high speed Wi-Fi is available both inside and out. The setting is casual and comfortable and can also now host formal and informal meetings.
Cafe Opening Times
Initially the cafe will be open
Wed – Sat 1030 – 1500
Lunch food 1200 – 1400
The New Inn café offers a great selection of quality hot and cold snacks , teas, coffees and cold drinks all to the same standard as our restaurant . A variety of Gluten Free options are also available. A sample menu is available below.
Wheelchair access is available to the café and gents toilet via a wheelchair friendly ramp from the pub garden. Access to the ladies toilet and disabled toilet remain from the courtyard through the rear entrance to the pub. We are still working on providing wheelchair access to the bar and restaurant.
In the evenings the New Inn hosts a traditional skittle alley which continues the great sporting theme enjoyed by pubs and inns in the west-country. Two skittles teams play here, normally every other Tuesday and Thursday night. The alley also provides a fun couple of hours for pub visitors.
Another sporting facility coming to the New Inn will be our pool table at the end of the café where competitive and friendly games can be played most evenings when the skittle alley is not in use (they normally meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings). It is envisaged that the pool team will hold matches on a Wednesday.
