A café in the pub was always a priority for many villagers – a daytime, welcoming space to relax and meet friends. The exciting solution at the New Inn is a café by day and a skittle alley by night making the best use of the great space in the pub.
The New Inn Cafe
The Café at the New Inn is a cosy venue, serving great food and drinks and is a perfect spot to meet friends, hold meetings, or provide a welcome break for walkers, cyclists and visitors to the village. It even offers the chance to escape from the doldrums of a home office. Wi-Fi is available both inside the cafe and in the courtyard. The setting is casual and comfortable and can also host formal and informal meetings. The enjoyable atmosphere of the cafe is demonstrated by the numerous awards it keeps winning and the various clubs which meet here. Oh, it is dog friendly too.

Cafe Menu
The New Inn café offers a great selection of quality hot and cold snacks , teas, coffees and cold drinks all to the same standard as our restaurant . A variety of Gluten Free options and a children’s menu are also available. A sample menu is available below.
Disabled Access.
Wheelchair access is available to the café and gents toilet via a wheelchair friendly ramp from the pub garden. Access to the ladies toilet and disabled toilet remain from the courtyard through the rear entrance to the pub. We are still working on providing PERMANENT wheelchair access to the bar and restaurant.
Skittles
In the evenings the New Inn hosts a traditional skittle alley which continues the great sporting theme enjoyed by pubs and inns in the west-country. Two skittles teams play here, including a ladies friendly team, normally every other Tuesday and Thursday night. The alley also provides a fun couple of hours for pub visitors. So if you want to have a family night out with Skittles as the theme then speak to us.

Cafe Art.
Aside from running painting classes in the cafe, the walls are normally bedecked with art for sale by local artists. This regularly changes giving many local artists the opportunity to display their work
Events
The newly opened Halse café at the New Inn is now available to be booked for a range of events too.
It is a great space, light and modern and perfect to be rented for the afternoon or evening for birthday parties for young and old , baby showers, business meetings, small wedding receptions and even bands or discos. Booking the café space gives you access to all the high quality catering , food and drink services from the New Inn.
