Access Statement
We welcome everyone to the New Inn and have produced this Accessibility Statement to give our guests more detailed information about the pub and how we can make their visit more enjoyable and safe.
It is a clear and honest description of the facilities and services we offer and explains what we can do to help guests who want specific accessibility information, such as older travellers and families with young children.
We hope to be able to reassure guests that we are keen to understand your individual needs to help them enjoy your experience.
When booking we ask guests to let us know if they have any specific requirements about access.
The New Inn has parking at the rear entrance and if we are informed when you arrive we can ensure guests get as close to the entrance as possible.
Our staff are trained to respond to the needs of people with access needs and help out where possible – this can often avert any potential problems or issues. We will of course offer to show all guests with accessibility requirements to their room and help with luggage.
Our public areas at the New Inn, including the bar and eating area and toilets, are on one level. We have recently installed a ramp giving wheelchair access into our cafe/skittle alley and toilet facilities but there are still a number of steps into the bar and restaurant whichever way you enter.
There is also no viable way at the moment for us to have a full sized disabled toilet.
Our bedrooms are located on upper levels and there is no mechanised lift. We are sorry for this but it is the function of an old building, its size and planning restrictions. However our staff will always ask customers if they need assistance. We are also delighted to have feedback from customers to all we can do to help.
The New Inn has undergone the first stage of a series of renovations during 2020/21 and we will be working hard to ensure that our future plans to further renovate the pub include as much help and guidance as possible for guests with special access needs. There is a small ramp offering wheelchair access to the café from the car park and although we are still working on providing PERMANENT wheelchair access to bar and restaurant, a removable ramp is currently available giving a wheelchair way in to these areas.
