September has arrived and I think we are all looking forward to slightly cooler weather compared to what we have had this summer. Reservoirs, lakes, rivers, farmland and gardens are all in desperate need of water. How many of you have been quietly doing a rain dance?
We continued to be very busy during August, despite the heat.
The Monday openings were a success with good numbers coming in for pizza each week.
August theme night of Spanish delights meant the pub was again filled with enthusiastic food lovers. Compliments were flooding in on the flavourings of the dishes.
This month Kaan and the team will be bringing you Indian Summer (menu to follow). Bookings are already coming in so make sure you book a table soon to avoid disappointment.
Last Saturday our very own Tilly was singing and playing guitar for us. The night was a huge success with a packed out bar and restaurant. Some top songs were belted out including firm favourites from Dolly Parton, The Cranberries and John Denver. Thank you Tilly!
Bank Holiday Monday was another roaring success!
The Hanging basket winner was announced & this year the Golden Gnome was awarded to Lucy T. (Thank you to Halse Gardening Club for showcasing their hanging baskets again this year, which helped our garden look so stunning, especially in the heat we have had!)
The Hapless Sailors sang for us again and sounded fantastic as usual.
The Super Summer Quiz hosted by Spielberg went down a storm with 16 teams competing.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening the success that it was!
