The New Inn Halse Restaurant

Join us in our friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant serves seasonal cuisine, using only the finest, freshest ingredients, sourced from local markets and suppliers wherever possible.

Our extensive wine list offers carefully chosen wines to accompany your meal.  We are happy to cater for larger groups (between 8 and 14 people) and are always happy to discuss menus during booking.

To start

Roast chestnut, parsnip and sage soup with parmesan croutons

Smoked salmon and prawn mousse with horseradish and dill crème fraiche and pitta crisps

Ham hock, pistachio and cranberry terrine with spiced apple compote and ciabatta bread

Baked rum-soaked baby figs and goats cheese served on mixed leaves with

balsamic syrup and ciabatta toasts

Main Course

Roast crown of turkey with walnut and apple stuffing, pigs in blankets, buttered sprouts,

honey roasted carrots and parsnips, roast potatoes and a cranberry and red wine gravy

Festive apricot, lentil and stilton nut roast with honey roasted carrots and parsnips,

roast potatoes, buttered sprouts and a wild mushroom and brandy sauce

Pan-fried hake fillet served on a crab and spring onion risotto with

watercress and beetroot glaze

Slow braised venison and juniper casserole with celeriac and chive suet scones

and crispy kale

Dining At The New Inn Halse

Our restaurant is open Wednesday-Saturday from 12-2.30 pm for lunch; and from 6.30 – 9pm for dinner. On Sunday we serve a traditional Sunday roast from 12-3pm. Although booking is not essential it is advisable to telephone to check availability.
