The New Inn Halse Restaurant

Join us in our friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant serves seasonal cuisine, using only the finest, freshest ingredients, sourced from local markets and suppliers wherever possible.

Our extensive wine list offers carefully chosen wines to accompany your meal.  We are happy to cater for larger groups (between 8 and 14 people) and are always happy to discuss menus during booking.

Dining At The New Inn Halse

Our restaurant is open Wednesday-Saturday from 12-2.30 pm for lunch; and from 6.30 – 9pm for dinner. On Sunday we serve a traditional Sunday roast from 12-3pm. Although booking is not essential it is advisable to telephone to check availability.

To start

Soup of the day with warm ciabatta   £5.00

Smoked mackerel and horseradish pate with beetroot and dill crème fraiche and brioche toast  £6.50

Mexican spiced pork koftas with a lime, chilli and sweetcorn salsa and mixed leaves  £6.50

Smoked chicken Caesar salad with anchovies, shaved parmesan and croutons   £7.00

Jerk king prawns with a Carribean hot pepper dipping sauce and salad  £7.50

Garlic and rosemary baked Camembert with a fig and onion compote and toasted ciabatta   £7.00

Korean BBQ pulled chicken burger and Monterey Jack cheese in a brioche bun with spring onion and coriander sour cream and sweet potato fries  £11.00

Guinea fowl supreme served over haggis, sage and apple stuffing with leeks and a tarragon and Dijon mustard sauce   £14.00

Slow cooked lamb shank served on celeriac and parsnip mash with green vegetables and a redcurrant and rosemary jus   £14.00

Tofu katsu curry with Indian potato cakes, naan bread and mango crème fraiche   £11.00

Braised beef, onion and stilton pie topped with herby suet pastry, triple cooked chips and vegetables   £11.00
